Steel hose ferrules and crimp sleeves are used with barbed hose fittings and are crimped on large diameter hydraulic hose presses to create a strong, permanent, and tamper-resistant hose connection. G3S Hose Sleeves will work with most barbed hose inserts, while G3F Interlocking Ferrules are designed to interlock with particular hose stems, such as our G65C and G65E Cam-Locks and our G33 Crimp Style Combination Nipples. Sleeve I.D. measurements refer to the inside diameter of the ferrule or sleeve before crimping.
In general, sleeves and ferrules should be at least 1/4″ shorter than the hose barb being crimped and placed just ahead of the end of the barb on the fitting. Generally speaking, short sleeves are usually suitable for attaching G33 Combination Nipples while longer sleeves are preferred for G65 Series Cam-Locks. For steam applications or high pressure air service in larger sizes, G29C Collar Lock Bolt Clamps should be used instead of steel sleeves.
