For environmental reasons, dry ice is becoming popular as an abrasive instead of sand, since it leaves no residue except the material removed during the blasting process. Glacier Blast is designed to remain flexible despite the cold temperatures inherent in using frozen carbon dioxide. Extreme caution is required during this process, since there is risk of frostbite as well as carbon dioxide buildup in the air in confined spaces.
