Description
The Rheem-Ruud 61-106238-50 Thermal Expansion Valve (TxV) 4 ton air conditioning units that utilize R-22 refrigerant. Thus, it regulates the flow of refrigerant within the evaporator so as to enhance its cooling efficiency. This TXV features an inlet size and outlet size of 3/8″, there is also a capillary tube with a length of 30″, in addition to an equalizer tube measuring seven and a quarter inches. In all cases, these have sweat connections. TXV mainly functions to regulate refrigerant flow into evaporator coils based on cooling needs. It thus helps maintain optimal levels of superheat thereby preventing both underfeeding or overfeeding which can eventually cause damage to HVAC systems, hence this valve is mostly found in household settings.
