Ground Joint Fittings are designed for heavy duty applications such as steam, construction air supply, road building, and drilling. The coarse threads allow these fittings to easily couple in the field, while the heavy wing nuts can be tightened using a hammer or mallet. Collars on G29S Ground Joint Female Hose Stems are designed for use with G29C Collar Lock Bolt Clamps while our G29SC Crimp Style Ground Joint Female Hose Stems are designed to be crimped using our G29CR Ground Joint Crimp Ferrules for steam applications or our G3F Interlocking Crimp Ferrules for non-steam applications. A typical hose assembly will have ground joint female stems with wing nuts attached on both ends where multiple hose lengths can then be joined using ground joint double spuds. Male and female spuds are then used to adapt to pipe thread ends found on valves, pipe fittings, equipment, or manifolds.
