Description
The Sporlan Controls 124224 is a 9-ton thermal expansion valve (TXV) developed for use in commercial refrigeration systems containing R404A refrigerant. Through control over the flow of liquid refrigerant into the evaporator coil, this crucial part keeps the system operating at peak efficiency. A pressure sensor built inside the TXV keeps an eye on the pressure inside the evaporator coil all the time. The temperature differential between the refrigerant vapour exiting the evaporator and its saturation temperature at the current pressure is known as the superheat, and this is what the pre-set valve is designed to maintain. The TXV automatically modifies its internal channel based on the difference between the sensed pressure and the target superheat.
