The Trane COM10606 Compressor is an ideal compressor for commercial and industrial air conditioning, using R-22 refrigerant. This Trane compressor is not a piston type of compressor, but a scroll type of compressor that works efficiently. Two scrolls arranged in a hermetic chamber interlock and work like a pump, compressing the refrigerant gas at a moderate rate. This design translates to a 4-ton capacity (48,000 BTUH), which is perfect for handling heavy cooling loads regardless of the region’s moderate climate. Brazed stub tubes (discharge size ½”) are used to ensure that there are no leaks in the circulation of the refrigerant.
