Description
The Trane COM10720 Scroll Compressor is manufactured for the cooling of medium commercial spaces. It used R-22 refrigerant, which has increasing environmental constraints. This Trane model was a scroll type of compressor different from the conventional piston type of compressor used in most systems. In the closed casing, two intertwined scrolls work as a powerful pump to compress the refrigerant gas. This design resulted in a 3.5-ton capacity (approximately 42,000 BTUH), which was suitable for handling moderate cooling loads in commercial structures.
