Description
The Trane VAL2980 is an HVAC 5-ton thermal expansion valve (TXV) for use in systems employing R-22 refrigerant. It is crucial to maintain the system’s necessary exploitation since the valve controls the refrigerant drawing into the evaporator coil correctly. It works more like a nozzle through which pressure is regulated. The TXV has pressure and temperature decrease as high-pressure liquid refrigerant flows through the valve and expands and vaporizes through a restrictive orifice. This cool refrigerant is used in the evaporator coil to reduce the heat from the surrounding air, giving us a cooler environment. This reduces the flow rate should the temperature get too low to avoid freezing the coil.
